History
Clancy’s Cantina doors first opened in 1983. The restaurant became a local favorite very quickly and had to move to a larger space after just one year of being open. In 2010 Clancy’s Cantina moved to its current location at 310 Flagler Avenue and is operated by the original owner’s children.
Many now consider Clancy’s Cantina an anchor in the beachside tourist district of New Smyrna Beach. Although Clancy’s Cantina became a favorite destination in the 80s, the history behind the flavorful food there dates back to the 1920s.
Founder Bill Clancy’s mother began cooking Tex-Mex style dishes to help pay the bills in the 1920s. Later a restaurant called Mexico Chiquito was opened in Little Rock, Arkansas by the family in 1935, and it has stayed open to this day! So, it’s more than just authentic food behind Clancy’s name, but also a rich tradition.

Located at 310 Flagler Avenue, Clancy’s is open Monday through Thursday and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Friday and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
